VCU’s Center on Transition Innovations will offer a free, 5-week course on transition
planning that will run from October 3 until November 20, with priority registration available for new and provisionally licensed special education teachers. Transition planning is an essential part of preparing students with disabilities for life after high school, but how exactly do you develop an effective transition plan to promote student success?
If are new to the field of special education, Transition: Changing the Outcomes offers
a unique opportunity to learn about evidence-based transition practices while connecting and networking with others in your field. However, the course is targeted for all middle and high school special educators and any individual in Virginia who is interested in learning
more about transition for youth with disabilities. This course is free, accessible, provides 45 professional development points for renewal, and will be open to the first 100 participants in the state of Virginia.
Registration is now open and will be available until September 19th or until the course reaches capacity.
Interested persons may register through the link: https://centerontransition.org/training/transition.cfm.
