The T/TAC at VCU offers a variety of resources related to active learning. Teachers plan for active learning when they develop and implement activities to engage students as part of the educational process. Activities that engage students in their learning can assist students to understand and apply information.

Examples of resources available from our library include:

Instructional materials

  • Hands-on math materials (e.g., flexitables, algeblocks, sets of anglegs, x-y axis marker boards)
  • Hands-on reading materials (e.g. color-coded magnetic phonics set, unifix phonics and phonemic awareness stations, unifix vocabulary and fluency kit).
  • Individual Dry Erase Response Paddles
  • Magnetic Write-On, Wipe-Off Dice (small and large)
  • Processing Cards and Cubes
  • Snap-on Whiteboard Paddle Set

Teacher Resources
